Dried Green Yerba Maté

Smells like eucalyptus, and has a strong & earthy taste that's a bit bit bitter. Traditionally this is brewed and served in a calabash; a hollowed out and dried gourd. It's sipped through a bombilla; a straw with a filter on its lower end to strain out the leaf fragments. To prepare Maté this way, fill the bottom third of the calabash with dried or toasted mate leaves prior to adding hot water.

Caffeine strength is high: 80mg per 5 oz. It does not cause jitters due to its high mateine content. Not an evening drink!
